Photographic Moments of
U.S.S. Iowa's Passage Through San Francisco Bay
Trademark 2002
These photos show IOWA's intra-bay transit on April 21 to the Maritime Administration ("MARAD") Inactive Ship Facility in Suisun Bay. HSMPS film crews documenting this relocation were honored to receive and be accompanied by a personal representative from the Governor of IOWA, who met IOWA at the Golden Gate Bridge and accompanied our staff escorting the battleship into Suisun Bay, some 30 miles north of San Francisco. We are indebted to committee members George Bisharat amd Mike McWilliams and Karen Stollar for these photographs. The contents of this website are the property of HSMPS, there can be no reproduction without permission.
